If you’ve never used a medical linen service, or you’re switching providers, you have questions about how we operate. Over the years, we’ve collected some of the most frequently asked questions in regard to our medical linen services. We’ve listed some of them here. If you have a question you don’t see listed, please call us, and we’ll be happy to answer any question you might have.
Contaminated laundry, as defined by OSHA’S Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, is “any laundry that has been contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious material or may contain sharps”. This laundry could contain sheets, scrubs, surgical gowns, surgical towels, sharps, etc.
Yes, we can supply you with clearly marked laundry bags and containers, suitable for both contaminated laundry and non-contaminated laundry. For contaminated laundry, we have liquid-proof biohazard laundry bags and hampers. Regular laundry bags will suffice for non-contaminated laundry.
There is no simple answer to this question. We have different rates based on the size of your facility and how much laundry you generate. And if you rent medical linens from us, you will have one rate. If all you need is for us to pick up, launder and deliver back to you your facility-owned linens, you have another rate. You can save money by bundling services with our medical waste disposal services.
Yes. Every client has to sign a contract. The contract will lay out what specific medical linen services we will provide you, when we will provide them, and what the monthly cost will be.
You will want to check your contract for the details of how to terminate the contract. In many cases, you will need to provide advance notice. We can work with you to make sure there is no lapse in service. BioMedical can even help you with contract buyouts.
